What is eCommerce?
In general terms, eCommerce can be thought of as the ability to conduct business over the internet. Generally, it entails for a website to accept and process credit cards in exchange for goods or services.
In order for this to occur, the site needs a customized eCommerce software that needs to be configured to list features and prices of available products or services, the ability to safely accept personal customer information, a shopping cart, and the ability to link to a merchant account so customers can pay via credit card or other accepted online payment options (e.g. Paypal).
